So cool, so bold, so Chaud (with a Lasting Sensation)

Oh me oh my! I'm slowly but surely building up my lipstick collection. It has became an obsession as of lately, if I'm going to be honest. And I'm not exactly taking baby steps when it comes to the colors. I fell in love with this color while I was watching Jenn Im from Clothes Encounters on YouTube. She was wearing this lipstick in her video and it simply looked GORGEOUS! I still lusted over it for a couple of weeks, I was very patient.

Ever since my first visit to MAC this year, which was actually my first time ever, I tend to look for any color with an orangey undertone. This shade tends to look really nice on my medium olive toned skin. And asI really don't know anything else about makeup, I latch on to this important information! Good thing spring and summer are in town because my lips are going to be looking good! Everyone is really into coral for these seasons, so I believe my orange isn't too far off.

Also this is a good alternative to straight up red!

This, being a matte shade, is a little drying. However, in my opinion, not too much. It has good pigmentation so you don't have to apply a thick layer of it. Some lipsticks tend to bleed out creating what I call "old lady mouth". Also, lip liner can be incredibly helpful with staying power, so just in case, I bought a lip liner. I figure that Lasting Sensation was my best bet seeing as it is closest to So Chaud in color. This lip liner is described as a bright coral. You can line your lips in many ways: line you lips before/after application (just the outline), fill in lips with lip liner then apply lipstick, or heck! just use the lip liner as a "lipstick". With the second option you are more than likely to have your lipstick stay on for almost twice the normal amount of  time.
I did notice that if you eat with this lipstick on it will rub off and look all splotchy. Reapplying is obviously no problem but maybe wearing a full lip of liner will help if you don't have the lipstick with you.

The lipstick goes on a lot more pigmented but it was brand new and I was sad to put it on, lol.

Here is a "decent" picture of me wearing both products. As you can see the lip liner blends perfectly with the lipstick! It's a nice bold color to wear if you're daring!

What are some of your favorite brighter colors? Or do you just stick to more subtle shades?

  1. I'm a red girl, but you're right this is a great alternative and looks lovely on, especially for summer!

    1. Yes, everyone keeps raving about corals for the warmer weather. I just think orange, though, when I hear the word "coral".

Ps: Thank you for checking out my post. I hope you like it enough to check out my other posts :)

      Have a wonderful day,
